Lesesne stated he does not agree with the premise of the article that web sites for campaigns are not as important as once thought. "Campaign consultants who discount the importance of the Internet do not understand it's power. To leverage this power candidates must move beyond a static web site to interact with voters by keeping content fresh and pushing this content via e-mail. Lesesne went on to note that while most traffic to campaign sites is from committed supporters, it is the information on these sites that make these supporters disciples of the candidate. "I know in my business, the best marketing and PR I can get is 'word of mouth' referrals," Lesesne stated. "It is the same with a political campaign, giving supports information so they can sell the candidate to undecided friends and family is a powerful tool."
